This movie really destroys the “it’s a kids movie” argument people use when defending bad movies against criticism. Kids movies don’t have to be dumb, or bad, or trivial, or have plot holes and inconsistencies, or be formulaic. Kids movies can and should be great.

As someone who didn’t like the first Puss in Boots all that much and had zero interest in seeing The Last Wish, the fact that it turned out to be not only one of my favorites of 2022 alongside Banshees and EEAAO, but also one of my all time favorite films really surprised me. Such a phenomenal return for DreamWorks and Shrek as a franchise both in storytelling and creativity, I hope that streak continues further down the line. Also I adore Joel’s shirt it’s so amazing 😍

Oh so those are the criminals who butchered the first movie by making a no-sequel-at-all-sequel!

Minor complaint: The video title says “Puss in Boots” so I assumed this video was about the 2011 film. Now I have been slightly spoiled for the 2022 film. Please do better with your video title naming.

Absolutely brilliant storytelling, animation, voice acting, direction, just movie making magic. Also, Harvey is the cutest.
