In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to feature the critical work of Dr. Lisa A. Newman — an internationally renowned breast surgeon and researcher, and recipient of the VS Global Fund’s inaugural Scientific Achievement Award. Dr. Newman received this award in recognition of her groundbreaking work to significantly advance the understanding of breast cancers in African and African American women and outstanding mentorship to women in the field of surgical oncology.
