Net or netting is a type of open mesh fabric that is kept together by knots or fused thermoplastic yarns at each point where the strands cross.

Mesh comes in three shapes: square, hexagonal, and octagonal.

Mesh sizes range from coarse to fine and are easy to locate and share.

Netting can be formed of any type of fiber and sized softly or stiffly.

Net textiles are relatively delicate and must be handled and cleaned with care.

Torn net textiles cannot be repaired successfully since the fix would be visible.

If the sizing is water-soluble, dry-clean the cloth.
