The Making of Vogue’s September Cover With Emma Stone and Nicolas Ghesquière | Vogue

Published

on

For Vogue’s September Issue, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière crafts a couture collection exclusively for Emma Stone, the star of the magazine’s famed fall cover. The project is a celebration of love and friendship, with Emma stepping into six distinct essence, each with their own unique personality. One sees her as the magnetic headmistress of a ballet academy, inspired by Louis Vuitton’s legendary Épi leather. Another transforms her into the enigmatic hostess of an imaginary cabaret, a nod to her Broadway performance in 2014. A third channels pure innocence, recalling the earliest moments of her performance as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. After exploring the origins of each of these personas, we move to the south of France. There, photographer Jamie Hawkesworth, fashion editor Grace Coddington, and Emma herself work to bring Nicolas’s visions vividly to life.

I am so disapointed they didn’t take the blindfolded pose for the front page , that would have been special , instead they went for the most ordinary look.

This cover is beautiful! Emma looks stunning! Every look she’s in looks absolutely stunning. The clothing, the style, the camera quality, the poses, and the lighting are all exquisite

Yeah, the problem with nonprofessional models is that they are not aware of all the parts of their body, so you have to pose them – and that can make them look stiff. Dancers make some of the best models.
