Love the breakdown, however a detective saying that effectively the suspect shouldn’t ask for a lawyer & not talk because it’s “frustrating to investigators” is gross. Considering it’s said during miranda warning at the arrest it’s smart for anyone not to accidentally incriminate themselves & ask for council immediately so then the cops cannot interrogate you.

He’s being pretty brutally honest and blunt in this take so I see it as a refreshing rather than robotic cliche lines.

I agree telling someone they shouldn’t ask for a lawyer just because they want their job to be easier is messed up. If you’re smart shut your mouth and ask for a lawyer anytime you’re talking to police or detectives, ALWAYS.

He stated that calling a lawyer and staying silent it’s gonna frustrate the investigators and that it is an effective method to throw off the law enforcement. He didn’t say to not call a lawyer because it makes his job easier.

Spot on. Any lawyer would tell you “Say nothing; call your lawyer.”

I agree with them saying the police not interested in OD’s is not a high priority.. yes it is. My friend had an OD and the detectives on the case were on me like stink on rice.

I guarantee if I had gone to the coffee shop to speak with them like they wanted I might be in prison today. Luckily I called a friend who had a criminal lawyer call me and speak to me, told me under no circumstances go and talk to the police. If they showed up to my house (because they were staking me at one point) to talk to me just say I wasn’t talking to them right now and if I needed to to make sure my lawyer was present, who would be my friends criminal lawyer.

Luckily nothing ever came of it but I guarantee those police were looking into my friends OD because they wanted to know who sold him the drugs that killed him and known associates. I was just his friend but I knew some things so it took nearly a year later for me to meet his dad in a coffee shop with lots of people to talk about his death and what I knew.

Sad he told me they still hadn’t received any of the electronics the police took back nor gotten an autopsy report.. a year later. I wanted to try and give them some closure since I knew his dad was a nice guy despite having never met his parents in a ten year period of being friends, but at least we got to converse and try to figure things out.

He died just after Halloween October 2017, I hated and loved the guy but it’s sad when your closest and must trusted friend who you also hate but know the most dies and you have no one else to talk to about it because you can’t.

Moral of the story.. speak to a lawyer before talking to police, or have a lawyer present.

Also I wish he reviewed MindHunters on Netflix, just watched both seasons yesterday and wow that is such an amazing detective serial killer show.

I’d like to see the Columbo episode about the blind witness being fact-checked by Detective Demery. Columbo’s premise that the criminal couldn’t assume that the decoy blind witness was blind without the criminal having been at the crime scene is ludicrous because they coached the decoy blind witness on how to behave like a blind person would to entrap the criminal. I’d like to see quite a few Columbo episodes fact-checked.

Heh. Just like a cop to suggest that telling Jesse to say nothing and ask for a lawyer would frustrate the detectives rather than saying “this is the right thing to do!” as any lawyer would tell you.

CSI might as well have been classified as a Comedy for all the things it got wrong, not to mention the horrid acting.

No offense, but we already got The Wire for this Breakdown. Anything that is not the same, is just plain false and hollywoodesque: any other police show.
