Custo Barcelona was created at the start of the 80s by the Dalmau brothers, Custo and David, following a long journey which took them around the world; on their way they discovered not only new horizons but also a huge swathe of artistic, cultural and philosophical influences.

The resounding success of the brand, which they live with caution, comes after a very hard time, as Custo Barcelona was born from the ashes of Custo Line, the first brand they created and which went bankrupt in 1996 due to the mismanagement of the textile group that in charge of its production and distribution.

With nothing to lose, they designed several T-shirts and, with them in a suitcase, they went to try their luck in the United States, where they caused a sensation.

Now, Custo Barcelona has a legion of followers and imitators.

It seems that success, this time, will not turn its back on them.

In 1998, he established his atelier in Fundão, a city where he still resides and works, and shortly after, he opened the first CARLOS GIL boutique. Known for his ability to capture beauty in diverse forms, Gil creates pieces that are both impactful and of remarkable quality. His designs are contemporary and cosmopolitan, yet always exude distinction and elegance, reflecting his unwavering dedication to his craft.
