A strong friendship that dates back to the 1980s and a natural sensitivity to each other’s needs.

The friendship between Madonna and Jean Paul Gaultier is tremendous, as seen by a post dedicated to a black bodysuit that the pop queen received as a present from his couturier buddy.

Though the conical bra Madonna wore on her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour is perhaps their most well-known collaboration, Gaultier also created Madonna’s dominatrix equestrian attire, among other costumes, for the 2006 Confessions Tour.

He also designed her futuristic, cagelike corset, which she debuted on the 2012 MDNA Tour, as well as her Joan of Arc-inspired attire, which she debuted in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in May.
