Betty Jackson caught the mood of the season with a sensational catwalk show at London Fashion Week.

The Marks & Spencer design consultant mixed a combination of soft-layered chiffons with harder leather accessories for her event at the Natural History Museum.

Ms Jackson, who designs for M&S’s Autograph label, brought out her strength as a designer with a well-known combination of classical tailoring and soft lines.

Hundreds packed into the tents to see the collection of mainly black clothing designs interspersed with a number of raspberry and lime green creations.

Camel-colored jersey sweaters were combined with leather gauntlets and collars to make unusual, yet very classical, outfits.

Earlier in the day, British duo Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts took a satirical look at the fashion world in a hilarious show, held on the third day of the fashion fest.

Their production (mixing photographic imagery, music and wearable outfits) proved extremely popular with the dedicated fashionistas running from show to show.

The exhibition, entitled At Last I’ve Found You I Was Almost Going Mad, was a collection of the pair’s famous T-shirt designs, sweaters, tunic dresses and tartan skirts all in a very high-street style.

The creations were all based on a parody of the fashion business with many T-shirts emblazoned with statements such as “I’m so unhappy”, “Nobody understands me” or “I feel ill”.

The Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled We Own The Light, explored light as a design element through contrasts of texture, transparency, and structure. The collection focused on architectural silhouettes combined with sensual shapes, staying close to the brand’s signature balance of experimentation and bold femininity.

Mini dresses in plumeti tulle featured iridescent surfaces, puffed sleeves, and fluid draping, creating soft volume with reflective movement. Other looks emphasized layered construction through lace, patchwork, and overlapping textures, often developed in warm tones of ochre, pink, and gold.

Transparency and opacity were central throughout the collection, with fabrics used to create shifting effects of light across the body. Volumes ranged from fitted silhouettes to more sculptural forms, balancing sharp geometry with softer drape.

The palette moved between luminous metallic effects and deeper evening tones, reinforcing the contrast between radiance and shadow.
