Embark on a journey into the world of fashion excellence with Carlos Gil as he presents his latest collection at ModaLisboa Fall 2024. Born in Nampula, Mozambique, in the late 1960s, Carlos Gil’s passion for design led him to pursue a degree in Fashion Design in Portugal.

In 1998, he established his atelier in Fundão, a city where he still resides and works, and shortly after, he opened the first CARLOS GIL boutique. Known for his ability to capture beauty in diverse forms, Gil creates pieces that are both impactful and of remarkable quality. His designs are contemporary and cosmopolitan, yet always exude distinction and elegance, reflecting his unwavering dedication to his craft.

Following mentoring sessions with industry experts and fashion professionals as part of a new training program by ModaLisboa, six aspiring designers unveiled their collections at Pátio da Galé. Developed with the support of Sangue Novo’s textile partnerships backed by Seaside, these collections represent a fusion of imagination and reality.

Themes explored on the runway include neo-nostalgia, the blending of fantasy and reality, conflicts of interest, memories, and identity reinforcement. Each creation reflects a profound awareness of environmental and social impact, demonstrating the next generation’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
