Over the past 75 years, fashion shows have evolved from intimate presentations to global spectacles. Vogue takes a look at the rich history of fashion’s illustrious front row. Dior’s 1950s “New Look” revolutionized femininity, while the ’60s embraced individual freedom and exclusivity. The ’70s introduced cultural influencers and turned shows into entertainment, paving the way for the extravagant glamour of the ’80s. By the ’90s, mainstream appeal dominated, and the 2000s saw celebrities strategically claim the front row. The rise of influencers in the 2010s, fueled by social media, democratized access to Fashion Week. Even as the pandemic briefly halted live shows, the industry adapted and returned. Today, the front row itself has become part of the spectacle with celebrities like Kylie Jenner wearing the same outfit we also see on the runway.

I have always been terrified of sharks. I also know that my fear is completely irrational. Recently I have been watching shark documentaries in an effort to desensitized myself. I’ve gotten better with tiger sharks but it’s really hard to find good footage of non aggressive great whites.

I came upon The Shallows as I was surfing channels and it was on cable. The moment they showed that in the background there was a dead whale and that shark was killing itself to eat her, I said “f@ck you” and changed the channel.

I wanted to be a marine biologist specializing in sharks. Then I learned that it’s essentially the hardest job to get so I decided that I’m literally better off hoping to get famous or win the lottery. But I’m extremely jealous that she gets to have my dream job.

I was hoping she would talk about the scene in Deep Blue Sea where the shark *SWIMS BACKWARDS*. It’s physically impossible for them to do that. That scene infuriated me so much I wanted to throw the movie out the window.

Her voice sounds so, so similar to Toni Collette, to me haha. She makes this Information palatable and actually fascinating to people like me, high school history teacher lol.
