Six hours before she stands on stage at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City in front of a sold-out crowd, Vogue follows “Gorgeous” superstar Doja Cat as she gets ready for her next concert. Finishing up this leg of the tour, Doja and her creative director, Brett Alan Nelson, head to the wardrobe to pick out what to wear for the evening on the day of the show. Two hours before showtime, Doja heads to soundcheck, where she’s joined on stage by her accomplished band, which now features a triumphant horn section. Doja describes her final look for the show as “gaudy rich mob wife,” that’s also giving speedboat salesperson. She also talks about how Nina Hagen and Grace Jones were and continue to be massive style influences for herself.
