Founded by Pierre Balmain in 1945, the Balmain Maison immediately set itself in stark contrast to the fashion of the time, devoted to functionality, imposing a bold and feminine style that bore the sumptuous signature of Monsieur Balmain.

The DNA of the fashion house, original and ultra-feminine, was reflected in the richly embellished fabrics, narrow-waisted dresses and skirts longer and often wider than usual.

The Parisian fashion house soon gained the favor of the European aristocracy and Hollywood stars.
