Ricardo Preto is a Portuguese creative director and fashion designer with a national and international career.
With a degree in architecture from Universidade Lusíada, in Lisbon, and after attending a sewing and cutting course with master Maria Emília Sobreira and a handbag workshop at the St. Martins School of Arts, in London, Ricardo Preto decided to follow the fashion area.
He started by designing a collection for Amarras and creating bags for the Spanish brand Perteguaz, as well as hats and accessories for the Portuguese fashion designers, Dino Alves and Osvaldo Martins.
He presented two collections in Manobras de Maio, and in March 2006 he integrates the ModaLisboa – Lisbon Fashion Week schedule.
Between 2010 and 2015 he created several collections with Meam Style, producing three lines per season, which were sold in Spain, France and Italy; during this period, he also designed Ricardo Preto and Meam Style shoes in partnership with the Portuguese brand Clays.
Nowadays, he is the head designer for Ricardo Preto exclusively for Rustan’s and U by Ricardo Preto for Rustan’s, designing both Women and Menswear collections, as well as shoes and accessories, now available in the asian market.
